Dr Siva Muthukumar is a senior consultant Cardiothoracic & vascular Surgeon at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai. He began his rotary journey as a rotractor at Kilpauk Medical College and later joined Rotary Club of Madras West in 2013. He had his surgical training at Kilpauk Medical College , Madurai Medical College, National Board, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh UK and Children's Hospital, Boston, US He is a recipient of various awards including IACTS Reeve Betts Fellow, AATS Graham Foundation, BMJ South Asia Finalist, MCh University Gold Medal. His work experience includes MMM, Sri Ramachadra University, teaching faculty @ SRMC for 11 years. Published in International & National journals / Guide, trainer & mentor for 10 batches of MCh & BSC perfusion students Dr Siva has served rotary at various levels , both at club and district as Chair , Cardiac Disease Prevention , World Heart Day, Club activities in the avenue of Community services health and development. He was instrumental in achieving World Record for the largest human heart formation during world heart day celebrations. His vision is to perform 365 Heart Surgeries free of cost for the underprivileged. For Dr Siva , Every Heartbeat matters….
